It can always be daunting to start a new role, and I think doubly so when applying a specialist skill set and knowledge to a new arena. I have been a specialist recruitment consultant since leaving university, with a particular sector and geographical knowledge, so my decision to start anew might be seen as a risk.
But I had identified a sector that I wanted to operate in, one that I had some exposure to and knowledge of, but most importantly one that I had a genuine interest in. Having studied Law, the variety of legal work and careers available still fascinates me, and to be directly involved in shaping those careers and opportunities is what led me to Errington Legal.
Whilst the first week is always a blur of new information, systems, processes and of course people, I already feel at home in a team and environment that share my views of recruitment. Errington Legal is not the largest or oldest recruitment business, but enjoys an enviable reputation and relationships as a result of its genuinely thoughtful, consultative approach and the success that has created. For me this means a chance not just to recruit a role, but help forge a career, shape teams, and become a specialist all over again in a sector I’m fascinated by.
