Legal Secretary – Property Litigation - Cambridge - Competitive Salary + Benefits

An opportunity for an experienced and proactive Legal Secretary, with excellent administration skills, to join a highly regarded national law firm in their Property Litigation department. You will work as part of a secretarial team to provide a high standard of support to lawyers. You will ideally have HM Land Registry experience to assist with making application to the Land Registry including adverse possession applications and cautions. 

Duties include:

  • Produce HM Courts & Tribunals Service compliant hard copy and e-bundles under the direction of a fee earner

  • Using the HM Courts & Tribunals Service e-filing system

  • Creating and managing data rooms and file management processes to include compressing files

  • Producing and amending documents with speed and accuracy

  • Proof reading all work, checking for spelling and grammar, re-formatting to the in-house style

  • Using key software packages (including Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and taking responsibility for any training needs to improve relevant skills needed to meet the needs of the business

  • Proactively work with fee earners to ensure relevant documentation is produced to meet clients’ expectations and deadlines.

  • Diary management

  • Electronic filing, photocopying and scanning as required including billing administration.

  • Responding to internal and external telephone enquiries politely and professionally


Skills required:
  • Excellent IT and typing skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Self-motivated, ability to use initiative and provide pro-active support to fee-earners

  • Ability to pay attention to detail and check own work

  • Ability to remain calm and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
