Job Description

£35,000 to £45,000 + Benefits

A rare opportunity for a candidate with a good standard of education and with solid experience of at least 2 years in Wills, Trusts, Estates and Powers of Attorney, to work in a non-legal environment for a professional services firm based in their Ipswich office but with some working at home each week. 

Our client is an award winning firm in their field and they genuinely support continued learning and development and reward individual contribution to its continued success. For the right person STEP training will be supported, if not already qualified.

Day to Day Duties include:

  • Administration (not including investment management) of Trusts, including liaising with beneficiaries & co-trustees

  • Creation of new trusts

  • Making decisions on the action to be taken, involving complex legal & fiscal matters and sensitive family situations

  • Agreeing devolutions of trusts (by reference to the trust deed)

  • Preparation of trust accounts

  • To assist the Trustees with decision making in respect of payments following the death of a SIPP-holder

  • To deal with the administration of estates where the Firms Trustees have been appointed as executor

  • Preparation of deeds (e.g. deeds of variation, of retirement and appointment)

  • Preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney

  • Administration of attorneyships/deputyships where the Firms Trustees are the appointed attorney/deputy 


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proactive and flexible

  • Excellent Customer Service skills

  • Broad and up-to-date knowledge of UK trusts, including the taxation of trusts

  • Able to handle delicate and sensitive situations

  • Able to communicate effectively to a broad range of people

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Comfortable participating in marketing/business development

  • Previous experience of customer service within an office environment
