Our client is a leading and rapidly growing biotech company based in Oxford. They are seeking a talented Legal Director/Senior Legal Counsel, with a strong commercial and lifesciences background. This role offers flexible working and is happy to consider candidates who would travel 1 or 2 days a week.
As sole legal counsel you will work closely with all areas of the business and take a consultative and collaborative approach to solving complex legal, regulatory and business issues.
The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple areas of responsibilities with minimal supervision, demonstrating excellent critical judgement with a hands-on approach. This is a great opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across multiple jurisdictions and play a key role in supporting the company’s rapid growth.
As well as a strong commercial background, you should have a minimum 7 years PQE and ideally have previously worked in-house. Previous biotech, medtech or pharma experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will need to have excellent time management skills and be comfortable managing a high volume of work. Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and simply, as well as picking up new legal concepts quickly with a high level of accuracy will be essential for this role.
